5 Ways To Stay Healthy If You’re A Foodie

The best way to make friends and memories is to share food with them. Be it pets or humans, this trick works for everyone. But what if you are a foodie? It’s hard to keep making memories like that ,no? How do you keep the pounds and heart problems away?

When you love something, it’s easy to indulge in it. But the good news is you don’t have to go on boring diets and fake controlling your cravings till you die. Thankfully the trend around being a foodie is changing. People are adopting more ways to enjoy and be healthy when it comes to food.  Below are five ways to help you with this:

1. Cookware

Whether it’s flipping eggs or grilling that steak or making soup, great utensils are a complete game-changer for a foodie. Just like in other things where it’s quality over quantity. The same is the case with utensils. Your utensils should make your cooking effective, easier and faster. Foodies should be ready with anything. Non-stick fry pans, air fryer, wooden spoons, or a whisk everything should be there.

Now we don’t recommend going and buying everything just the essentials that could be used to make almost everything that you see while flipping magazines. From dessert to steak, rice, and everything in between. We recommend going for latex-free, FDA-approved utensils. There are plenty of set options on the market.

2. Watch Your Portions

When it comes to eating a lot but keeping healthy, PC or portion control is the way to go. This method is better than dieting because it doesn’t deny you anything. You can eat everything no matter how oily or full of calories is it but you gotta cut down on the portions you eat. E.g previously if you had a bowl of salad now you can only have half a bowl.

You can either get a kitchen scale or use the palm of your hand to measure things. Check out different guides on how much protein, carbs, and fats are allowed per person per day and you are well on your way to being a healthy foodie.

3. Eat Organic

It’s is said that food alters your DNA just like your environment does. It affects the kind of person that you are. Keeping this in mind. It is really important to know where your food is coming from. Whether it is homegrown, it’s store-bought, does it have preservatives, etc. Questions like these will help you keep your food in check.

Some small homerun businesses do offer healthy store-bought food but we would encourage you to have a let’s chop and freeze everything Sunday. You can utilize this day to plan ahead for all your meals, prepared from scratch using organic vegetables and fruits. Another option is growing your veggies and fruits at home to the beat of your ability.

4. Water Is Your Best Friend

Drinking water before meals is a sure-fire way of eating less. Be careful to practice this 45 minutes before your meal. You don’t want to soak all your food in water like those hotdog eating contests by drinking too close to your meal. Not only does this method effectively stops us from filling our stomach till we can’t stand but also helps with digestion, preventing bloating and acidity too.

It also helps in breaking down ( metabolization) of our food. We also recommend taking a walk after every meal. Another way to fight off random cravings is lemon water. It helps kill illogical cravings that are a curse for every foodie.

5. Variety Is Your Spice

Eating too much of anything is dangerous to your health and boring as well. Even being a foodie you will eventually get tired of gulping down cheeseburgers every day. To keep yourself healthy and enjoy food, keep changing what you eat every day or every two days. E.g. adding new veggies or fruits to your diet. Cooking food in a different way such as instead of making American steak make a Japanese style steak instead. You could also gourmet up different foods together if you know how to play with spices and different veggies and fruits.

Lastly, savor it, and if someone tries to step on your food time. Eat them too. Let us know what healthy ways you are coping with being a foodie.
